Bishkek, Nov. 15, 2024. /Kabar/. The environmental ballet performance “Adam” was shown in Baku on Nov. 13-14 on the margins of UNFCCC COP 29 on the initiative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan with the support of the OSCE and with the assistance of the Azerbaijani side.
The performance was shown at the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theatre and aroused great interest among delegations of foreign states, international organizations participating in the UNFCCC COP 29 conference, as well as residents of Baku, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
Young performers-artists of the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Maldybaev performed on the stage.
Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan meder Mashiev and Deputy Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Murad Huseynov made welcoming speeches at the opening of the show. The purpose of staging the performance is to attract wide public attention to environmental and climate problems.
Adam is a ballet performance created in 2022 by an initiative group of young artists of the ‘Artis’ theater together with the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Maldybaev with the support of the SKZE public organization and the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek.
The performance raises important issues of ecology and restoration of the natural balance through the symbolism of dance and music. At the center of the narrative is man's struggle with the consequences of environmental pollution and nature, which, despite everything, finds its way to recovery.
