Bishkek, May 24, 2020 / Kabar/. The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic is preparing for a possible second wave of the coronavirus epidemic, the country’s deputy health minister Nurbolot Usenbaev told at a news briefing.
He said that the development of priorities for the next stage of the fight against coronavirus infection is underway because there is a possibility of the second wave, which can also greatly affect public health and the economy.
“Therefore, we are already taking measures in advance. Especially in terms of preventing health complications. Therefore, preventive vaccinations against influenza will be carried out a little earlier than the deadlines because if there are complications from the flu and if another second wave of coronavirus occurs, which is accompanied by a high percentage of pneumonia, we plan to provide vaccinations against pneumococcal infection, if possible. This is another type of respiratory infection that can affect our respiratory system. Accordingly, reducing the number of people with the flu, we reduce the risk of double burden on the respiratory system and will prevent complications from coronavirus. We plan mass vaccination,” said Usenbaev.
He also noted that the issue of creating an operational stock of medicines and personal protective equipment is being studied.
38 new COVID-19 have been registered today in Kyrgyzstan, raising the total to 1403.
