Bishkek, June 25, 2021. / Kabar /. As of June 1, 2021, economic entities of all categories produced 151.8 thousand tons of meat in live weight, which is 2051 tons or 1.4% more than the corresponding period last year.
The Ministry of Agriculture said that the increase in meat production in the republic is due to an increase in the number of farm animals, except for pigs and poultry.
According to the National Statistical Committee, as of January 1, 2021, the number of cattle increased by 35 thousand heads and amounted to 1 million 715.7 thousand heads, sheep and goats increased by 11.9 thousand heads and amounted to 6 million 278.7 thousand heads, horses by 17 thousand heads and amounted to 539.6 thousand heads and poultry increased by 201.4 thousand heads and amounted to 6 million 211.1 thousand heads, and the number of pigs decreased by 5.3 thousand heads and amounted to 29.4 thousand heads and the number of poultry decreased by 140.7 thousand heads and amounted to 6 million 70.4 thousand heads.
As of June 1, 2021, economic entities of all categories produced 5,564 tons of wool in the republic, which is 99.3% of the corresponding period last year.
