Kyrgyzstan produced 387.5 thsd tons of meat in 11 months

Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2021. / Kabar /. In January-November 2021, economic entities of all categories of Kyrgyzstan produced 387.5 thousand tons of meat in live weight, which is 7,054 tons or 1.9% more than the corresponding period last year.

The Ministry of Agriculture said that the increase in meat production in the republic is due to an increase in the number of farm animals, except for pigs and poultry.

According to data of the National Statistics Committee, as of January 1, 2021, the number of cattle increased by 35.0 thousand heads and amounted to 1715.7 thousand heads, sheep and goats increased by 11.9 thousand heads and amounted to 6278.7 thousand heads, horses by 17.0 thousand heads and amounted to 539.6 thousand heads, and the number of pigs decreased by 5.3 thousand heads and amounted to 29.4 thousand heads and the number of poultry decreased by 140.7 thousand heads and amounted to 6070.4 thousand heads.

All regions of the republic produced more meat than the corresponding period of 2020.
