Cholpon-Ata, July 21, 2022. /Kabar/. Speaking at the Consultative Meeting of Heads of States of Central Asia in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov proposed the creation of a common Central Asian television channel.
"Deep historical traditions of good-neighborliness between our peoples are a good prerequisite for positioning Central Asia as a single cultural and humanitarian space. The ties between our citizens, creative teams, and academia have no borders.
Taking into account the spiritual closeness of our countries, we propose to create a common Central Asian TV channel and prepare a series of TV projects informing about the potential of the region, the friendship and unity of the peoples living in this territory, a series of educational TV and radio programs on the history and identity of our peoples," the Kyrgyz leader said.
Zhaparov noted that Central Asia is a young region in terms of demography.
"Young people living in our countries will be the engine of our region's future prosperity. We need activities to support young talent in all areas: the economy, culture, and innovation. We consider it important to invest in our young people, in their education, in the training of highly qualified specialists, including in new "digital" directions in the creative industry," the Kyrgyz president concluded.
