Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov suggested investing in economic corridors between regions of the Central Asian countries based on the example of Almaty-Bishkek economic corridor during the work of the first Central Asian Economic Forum (CAEF).
In particular, the possibility of creating economic corridors in the Fergana Valley between the regions of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan is being considered. In his opinion, this step will contribute to the growth of commodity circulation and an increase in tourist flow.
“In order to develop the transit potential of the Central Asian countries, we propose to support our initiative of the international transport corridor Russia-Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan,” Boronov said.
The head of the Kyrgyz delegation also noted the need to restore Bishkek-Shymkent-Tashkent-Khojent-Andijan-Jalal-Abad railway network. This route, which passes through the territory of four countries, could provide an opportunity to travel not only to citizens of the countries, but also to foreign tourists who are interested in traveling around the countries of the region.
