Bishkek, June 2, 2023. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan proposes to create a Central Asian Guarantee Fund, the press service of the Guarantee Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The initiative was put forward by Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almaz Baketaev, and the team of Guarantee Fund OJSC, headed by Chairman of the Board, Malik-Aidar Abakirov. The idea is outlined in the article "The Central Asian Guarantee Fund as an institution for the support and development of mutual trade between the countries of Central Asia."
The initiative is argued by the possibility of increasing trade turnover, strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and expanding opportunities for access to financial resources for business entities.
The creation of CAGF is possible on the basis of the Guarantee Fund, since the latter is a specialized financial institution successfully operating in Central Asia, whose activities are aimed at supporting and developing business entities.
The CAGF will realize the trade potential by introducing and widely using trade finance instruments, supporting large infrastructure projects that increase the level of trade and supporting national guarantee funds in the countries of Central Asia.
