Kyrgyzstan proposes to Duchy of Luxembourg to establish twinning relations with its same name village

Bishkek, Dec. 3, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn.

The press service of the Kyrgyz MFA reported that the meeting took place on Thursday on the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting.

On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the sides emphasized mutual intention to intensify bilateral cooperation.

In this regard, they agreed to maintain political dialogue at the highest level with the organization of visits of official delegations in 2022, as well as to strengthen the friendly relations with business ties through the exchange of business missions.

In this context, the foreign minister of Luxembourg accepted an invitation to visit Kyrgyzstan in the first half of 2022. The sides also planned a number of joint cultural events on the occasion of the anniversary.

Ruslan Kazakbaev submitted for consideration by the Luxembourg side proposals to intensify bilateral relations in the medium term, including the expansion of the bilateral legal framework in the promotion and protection of investment, health, agriculture, the environment, communications and information technology, education and science, culture, tourism and sports.

The Kyrgyz side also proposed to one of the municipalities of the Duchy of Luxembourg to establish twinning relations with the Kyrgyz village of Luxembourg.

The foreign ministers discussed issues of regional and international agenda and interaction within international organizations.
