Bishkek, Aug. 15, 2022 / Kabar /. The most remote village of Kyrgyzstan - Zardaly has been provided with the Internet, Project Manager of the Kyrgyz branch of the Internet society (ISOC) Halil Ibrahim told Kabar Agency.
He said that at present, the installation of equipment is almost completed.
“There is a small technical work remained, but the Internet has already begun to work. It should be noted that the work on the installation of equipment is being carried out for the second time. The first time the equipment was installed in 2021, but later it failed due to inaccurate use. This year, taking into account past mistakes, we approached this issue more thoroughly. So, the development of the project was started in January 2022. It took a month to install the equipment. Funds for the installation were allocated by the head office of the Internet society. In total, about 3 thousand dollars have been disbursed so far,” he said.
In addition, Halil Ibrahim noted that the organization was only engaged in the installation of a solar panel, the residents of the village pay for using the Internet to Kyrgyztelecom OJSC.
ISOC installed a solar panel in Zardali within the framework of the UNICEF’s GIGA Accelerate project, which provides electricity to the local school. Also, the solar panel can provide electricity to the entire village, and, if necessary, neighboring villages.
Zardaly is the most remote village in Kyrgyzstan. There is no electricity, no radio, no TV and no Internet. One cannot get there by car and need to climb mountain paths for several hours.
