On April 24, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic put into circulation silver collection coins "Tai-tuyak" and "Som - 30 years" of the Historical Events series.
Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic Kaiyp Kulenbekov told at Kabar Agency that the main plot of the front side of the Tai-tuyak coin is the image of a tai-tuyak - a silver ingot used in the 19th century in the field of money circulation. In the upper part of the coin there is an inscription with the name of the coin, as well as the fineness of the metal (Ag 925) and the weight of the coin (500 g); the denomination of the coin (500 C) is indicated at the bottom.
He noted that the main plot of the reverse side of the coin is the Kyrgyz mountains and the traditional Kyrgyz ornament, and the overall combination conveys the main idea that links the past and the present.
"The coat of arms of the Kyrgyz Republic is depicted in the center of the coin. The inscription is placed around the circumference of the coin: "The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic / Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Uluttuk banky." The year of issue of the coin (2023) is indicated at the bottom of the coin.
The silver coin "Tai-tuyak" is the first coin issued by the National Bank with a weight of 500 g and a face value of 500 soms. The cost of the coin is 93 thousand 300 soms," he said.
According to him, the main plot of the front side of the coin "Som - 30 years" is the number "30" and the graphic sign of the som "C" against the background of the image of fragments of banknotes of different years of issue. "On the right and left parts of the coin there are images of circulating coins. In the upper part of the coin there is an inscription with the name of the coin: "Somgo 30 zhyl / Som - 30 years", in the lower part are indicated the metal sample (Ag 925), the weight of the coin (28.28 g) and the face value of the coin (10 soms).
The reverse side of the coin depicts the coat of arms of the Kyrgyz Republic against the background of a stylized national pattern used on the first paper tyiyns of independent Kyrgyzstan. Along the circumference of the coin there is an inscription: “The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic / Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Uluttuk banky”. The year of issue of the coin (2023) is indicated at the bottom of the coin. The cost of the coin is 4,110 soms," he added.
