Bishkek, March 3, 2019. / Kabar / Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan Nurbek Murashev met with Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Sueti.
The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic said that during the meeting the Kyrgyz minister with the Qatar ambassador discussed the issues of cooperation in the agricultural sector between the two states. In particular, the sides discussed issues regarding the supply of Kyrgyz agricultural products to the Qatar market.
Murashev noted that the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan is currently involved in the development of a draft Agreement on cooperation in the field of plant quarantine between the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment of Qatar. He also noted that Kyrgyzstan will consider all proposals for cooperation in the export of Kyrgyz products to Qatar, in particular honey, dried fruits and meat products.
In turn, the ambassador noted that Qatar is very interested in establishing air links, in order to export products from Kyrgyzstan and to increase trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Qatar.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to conduct a more in-depth analysis to resolve the issues raised and meet with the relevant departments of the two states.
