Bishkek, June 2, 2021 . / Kabar / . The first component of the Chinese coronavirus vaccine Sinopharm has run out in Kyrgyzstan, director of the Republican Immunoprophylaxis Center Gulbara Ishenapysova told Kabar News Agency.
She added the vaccine quickly ran out in Bishkek.
"These are 150 thousand doses that were provided by China. Now we continue to vaccinate with the second dose. The problem with the delivery of the second batch of vaccines from China was solved, but now the demand is very high because it was approved and included in the WHO list," Ishenapysova said.
Kyrgyzstan has started COVID-19 vaccination campaign on March 29 using China-donated vaccine after receiving 150 thousand doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from the Chinese manufacturer Beijing Institute of Biological Product Co. Ltd on March 19. The vaccination is carried out twice, with an interval of 25-28 days. No side effects have been reported after immunization with this vaccine.
In addition, the first batch of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V in the amount of 20,000 doses was delivered to Bishkek on April 22.
As of today, 84,472 people in Kyrgyzstan were vaccinated against coronavirus, including 37,268 with the second dose.
