Kyrgyzstan ratifies Agreement on Protection of Classified Information within CIS

Bishkek, March 14, 2018 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On ratification of the Agreement on the Protection of Classified Information within the Commonwealth of Independent States, signed on October 25, 2013 in the city of Minsk", the Kyrgyz president’s press service reported.

The law was adopted by Jogorku Kenesh on Jan. 25, 2018.

The agreement on the protection of classified information within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States envisages the assignment of rights, duties and responsibilities for the protection of classified information handed over by the participating states to the CIS bodies.

The agreement also establishes the secrecy of information used in the process of cooperation within the CIS, measures to protect sensitive information and its transfer.

The law enters into force ten days after the day of its official publication.
