Kyrgyzstan ratifies agreement with Lithuania on abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic passports

Bishkek, Oct. 23, 2019. / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports, signed on November 21, 2018 in the city of Vilnius”, his press service said.

The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on September 12, 2019.

The agreement provides for the mutual cancellation of visa requirements for holders of valid diplomatic passports for a period not exceeding 90 days.

In accordance with this Law, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is required to notify the Lithuanian side of the implementation by the Kyrgyz Republic of domestic procedures necessary for the entry into force of the above Agreement.

The law comes into force 10 days after the date of its official publication.
