Bishkek, Feb. 24, 2020. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov signed the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On ratification of the 2014 Protocol to the 1930 Convention on Forced Labor”, the Kyrgyz President's press service reported.
The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on Jan 16, 2020.
In accordance with this Law, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is required to deposit a certificate of ratification of the 2014 Protocol to the 1930 Convention on Forced Labor with the depositary, which is the Director General of the International Labor Organization.
The law shall enter into force 10 days after the date of its official publication.
After ratification of the 2014 Protocol, the Kyrgyz government, with the participation of the confederation of employers, public and other interested organizations, will develop an appropriate action plan with a view to its implementation.
