Bishkek, Nov. 25, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan has agreed with 6 countries on deferring the payment of external debt, acting Prime Minister, First Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov told at the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.
He noted that all payments on the external debt are made on time, with the exception of the moments where negotiations are underway on a postponement.
Artem Novikov said that an agreement had already been reached with the Paris Club.
“As of today, an agreement has been reached with 6 countries, consultations with another 5 are underway. The negotiations are already at the final stage,” he added.
Acting head of government explained that as soon as an agreement is reached with 5 countries, the Cabinet of Ministers will sign an agreement with those 6 countries.
“And there are additional conditions for 5 countries with which there is an agreement. If we do not agree, then we have reserves for payment,” he said.
Novikov also said that in 11 countries, according to the Paris Club, interest is paid.
“The government will have no problems with closing external debts in 2020,” he said.
