Bishkek, Aug. 16, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan intends to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Tashiev said.
The press service of the SCNS reported that Chairman Tashiev’s statement with regard to political situation in Afghanistan was issued on Monday.
"The rapid socio-political changes that have taken place in Afghanistan in recent weeks have shown how fragile the peace and stability in society are. Kyrgyz society is monitoring with great anxiety the events in Afghanistan, which is friendly to us,” the statement of the SCNS chairman runs.
He added that Kyrgyzstan urges all political forces in Afghanistan to show wisdom and a sense of responsibility for stability and prosperity not only in their country, but also in the entire region.
“Of particular concern in Kyrgyzstan is the fate of Afghan youth who seek to acquire modern knowledge, learn new technologies and find in-demand professions to work for the benefit of their homeland.
For this reason, we consider it our duty to support talented Afghan students by providing them with student visas to study at Kyrgyz universities. We are ready to continue issuing visas to Afghan nationals who used to study in local educational institutions and accept up to 500 students who would also like to study in Kyrgyz universities,” Tashiev’s statement says.
He also expressed confidence that the education of Afghan students in Kyrgyz universities will contribute to strengthening friendship and cooperation between two peoples in different spheres.
