Bishkek, March 14, 2022 . / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev met with State Secretary of the Slovenian Foreign Ministry Stanislav Rasčan on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the conversation, the sides touched on current issues of bilateral cooperation and noted the need to intensify political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, expansion of the legal framework between the Kyrgyzstan and Slovenia.
"To this end, the parties discussed plans to organize inter-ministerial consultations and high-level visits," the report said.
Thus, Ruslan Kazakbaev stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation within the framework of economic cooperation, in particular, expressed the willingness of the Kyrgyz side to sign an agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Slovenia on economic cooperation and the creation of the Kyrgyz-Slovenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
In turn, Stanislav Rasčan thanked the Kyrgyz side for the successful organization of the First European Union - Central Asia Economic Fourm on Nov. 5, 2021 in Bishkek, and emphasized the role of Kyrgyzstan in the development of cooperation between the two regions.
In conclusion, the foreign minister of Kyrgyzstan and the state secretary of the Slovenian MFA discussed current developments in the international situation in the world, including events in Ukraine.
"The Kyrgyz Republic supports the beginning of the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine on the peaceful settlement of the conflict, and is interested in the earliest possible achievement by the parties of mutually acceptable solutions, contributing primarily to a cease-fire and a way out of the crisis. The Kyrgyz side supports any mediation efforts in this direction, and if necessary, expresses its readiness to assist in establishing peace and mutual understanding," Kazakbaev said.
