Bishkek, Sept. 8, 2022. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev and State Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa Al-Marar met on the sidelines of the strategic dialogue “Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf + Central Asia”.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the conversation, the sides agreed to start implementing the Joint Action Plan of the GCC + CA for 2023-2027 and continue work to strengthen political dialogue and develop trade, economic and investment ties.
The sides decided to hold soon inter-MFA political consultations in order to prepare and create a basis for organizing an official visit of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UAE this year.
The sides agreed to maintain a political dialogue between the two countries at the highest level, in connection with which President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov will visit the UAE before the end of the year.
Also, issues were discussed on the introduction in Kyrgyzstan of the Emirati experience "Government Accelerator" and the construction by the Emirati side of a modern year-round resort in Issyk-Kul.
Al-Marar asked to support the UAE's initiative to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), to which Kulubaev noted the willingness of the Kyrgyz Republic to support the Emirati side. In turn, Kulubaev asked to support the candidacy of Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the UN elective bodies.
Following the meeting, Kulubaev said that the Kyrgyz side was waiting for the opening of the UAE embassy in Kyrgyzstan. Al-Marar stressed that the Emirati side attaches great importance to this issue and the UAE Government will soon make a positive decision.
