All 58 new fire trucks have arrived in Kyrgyzstan under the World Bank-funded project "Enhancing Resilience to Natural Disaster Risks in the Kyrgyz Republic" (ERIK), Minister of Emergency Situations of the republic Boobek Azhikeyev said during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He noted that the ceremonial handover of vehicles will be held on March 25 with the participation of the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan.
"Fire trucks have cisterns with a capacity of 6 tons, equipped with modern fire-technical equipment, as well as special equipment and tools. Purchased vehicles have high cross-country ability and are adapted to work in our climatic conditions," the minister said.
In addition, Azhikeyev pointed out that 300 sets of firefighter garments were also purchased.
"In the near future we will also purchase another 700 sets of firefighter garments at the expense of internal funds of the ministry,” the official concluded.
