Bishkek, Dec. 8, 2021 . / Kabar /. In order to preserve water resources and avoid deep drawdown of the Toktogul reservoir, an agreement on mutual supply of electricity was concluded with authorized energy companies of Kazakhstan in March of this year.
The National Energy Holding of Kyrgyzstan reported that in accordance with the agreement reached, water was released from Toktogul HPP in summer, which was returned in the form of electricity in winter.
A total of 900.0 million kWh of electricity was contracted between the National Electric Grid OJSC and the authorized power company of Kazakhstan, with the subsequent return of electricity received in the period from June to August months from 2021 to 2023 in the total amount of 300 million kWh.
Thus, as of Dec. 8, 2021 616.4 million kWh of electricity was received from the power system of Kazakhstan under the mutual supplies of electricity.
