Bishkek, Dec. 3, 2018. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan received a Guinness certificate for a 1.5-ton beshbarmak, Facebook user Elnura Kulueva wrote on her page.
On March 11, the largest portion of beshbarmak weighing 1 thousand 464 kg was prepared in Bishkek and devoted to the Day of Ak Kalpak (national headwear).
The main ingredients of the beshbarmak were a horse meat and noodles.
Beshbarmak is the national dish of Kyrgyz and Kazakh people.
The previous record for preparing beshbarmak was set in Astana on July 6, 2015, during the celebration of the Capital Day. The weight of the dish was 736 kg.
The term Beshbarmak means "five fingers", because nomads used to eat this dish with their hands. The boiled meat is finely chopped with knives, mixed with boiled noodles, and spiced with onion sauce.
