Kyrgyzstan receives humanitarian aid from government of Kazakhstan

Bishkek, Nov. 25, 2020 / Kabar /. A humanitarian cargo provided by the government of Kazakhstan has arrived in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The humanitarian cargo provided by the Kazakh side in the form of artificial lung ventilation devices - 400 pieces and medical masks - 2 million pieces, with a total value of about KGS 77.7 million is arrived in Bishkek within the framework of the agreement reached between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, in order to counter the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The government of Kazakhstan made a positive decision on the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Kyrgyz side following the results of the working visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev to Kazakhstan on Oct. 28-30, 2020.

The humanitarian cargo, with a total weight of 16 tons, was delivered to Bishkek by land transport in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological standards. The recipient from the Kyrgyz side is the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The official ceremony for the transfer of humanitarian aid will be held on Nov. 26, 2020 with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Bishkek and the media of the two countries.

The Kyrgyz side expresses gratitude to the government of Kazakhstan for the provided assistance and highly appreciates the contribution made by the Kazakhstani side in the fight against coronavirus infection in the Central Asian region.
