Kyrgyzstan receives international award for transparency in mining sector

Kyrgyzstan received an international award for "Progress in the implementation of the beneficial right" of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), the press service of the State Committee for the Industry of Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

A solemn ceremony was held on Monday during the conference on the beneficial law in the city of Jakarta (Indonesia). Chairman of the State Committee on Industry of Energy and Subsoil Use Ulanbek Ryskulov received the main award from the chairman of the EITI International Board Frederic Reinfeld.

Ryskulov expressed gratitude to the initiator of the bill to deputy of the Kyrgyz Parliament Kozhobek Ryspayev, as well as to other representatives of the parliamentarian for the rendered support.

"The government of Kyrgyzstan strives to build an open state for its citizens and improve business conditions in accordance with the strategy of sustainable development of the country until 2040, the program "40 steps to a new era", the program of digital transformation of the country "Taza koom",” said in his speech the chairman State Committee.

The EITI is the global standard for managing the oil, gas and mineral resources of countries. The standard is introduced by the government in cooperation with companies and civil society.
