Bishkek, Jan. 15, 2019. / Kabar /. The handing over ceremony of military-technical assistance from Russia to Kyrgyzstan took place in Bishkek with the participation of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
From the Russian side, the ceremony was attended by Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Andrei Krutko and representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, who announced the completion of the second stage of the implementation of the agreement between the two governments of March 31, 2015.
“In connection with the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Russian Federation has begun to implement a program of financial and technical assistance to the republic to strengthen the external border of the Eurasian Economic Union, that is, Kyrgyzstan joined the EAEU, and its borders with the People’s Republic of China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan became border of this union. Today we are completing the transfer of equipment for the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, which will be used to equip this technical area,” the diplomat briefly informed.
Advisor to the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Semenov, added that earlier in 2018, 11 border outposts were equipped, and to date 125 units of automotive and engineering equipment have been delivered, which will be fully used at border outposts.
Colonel Ularbek Sharsheyev, Chairman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic said that the assistance received will be able to fully meet the country's need to strengthen the external borders of the EAEU, which are passing through Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyzstan received today vehicles, trucks, excavator, crane, vacuum vehicle and installation for drilling.
