Kyrgyzstan remains committed to spirit and objectives of Paris Agreement: Zhaparov

The Kyrgyz Republic remains committed to the spirit and objectives of the Paris Agreement, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov said during his speech at the World Leaders Summit of the 26th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change on Nov. 2.

The Kyrgyz leader noted that today Kyrgyzstan, like the rest of the world, is waiting for Glasgow's decisions, his press service reported.

“Over the past few years, the nature and population of our country have begun to feel the negative effects of climate change quite noticeably. In this regard, I declare that the Kyrgyz Republic remains committed to the spirit and objectives of the Paris Agreement.

Our participation in the global campaign to curb climate change will be responsible and comprehensive in the recently submitted Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) to 2030,” the Kyrgyz leader said.
