Bishkek, July 18, 2022. /Kabar/. The overall crime rate decreased by 47%, Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ulan Niyazbekov said at a press conference in Bishkek.

Thus, 43 thousand 159 crimes were registered in the first six months of last year, in the same period of 2022 - 22 thousand 634.

"Compared to 2021, the number of crimes decreased by 20,525," the minister added.

In addition, Niyazbekov noted that the number of crimes detected increased by 2 thousand 421, or 19%. A total of 9,891 criminal cases were brought to court, which represents an increase of 423, or 4.55 (in 202 - 9,468).

Rates of serious and especially serious crimes decreased by 30%, murders - by 6%, rape - by 45%, extortion - by 63%, fraud - by 25%, theft of vehicles - by 26%, thefts - by 39%.

According to the results of operational and investigative measures, 437 criminal groups consisting of 1 thousand 102 people were detained.

"According to the analysis of the age of the perpetrators of crimes, the majority of offenses are in the age group of 29 to 49 years - 48%. 18% is the age group of 18 to 24," Minister Niyazbekov concluded.
