Kyrgyzstan reports second coronavirus-related death

Bishkek, Apr. 5, 2020. / Kabar /. A second case of death of a patient with COVID-19 coronavirus infection has been recorded in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the country's Ministry of Health said Sunday.

A biological death of a 80-year-old patient with confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 occured on Apr. 4, 2020 in Nookat Regional Hospital of Osh Oblast.

"After arrival from abroad, the patient was undergoing inpatient observation followed by clinical treatment.

From the moment of admission, appropriate treatment was carried out. However, the patient had a sharp deterioration with signs of acute myocardial infarction. Despite the intensive therapy, the patient died," the report says.

As of Apr.5, 3 more cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Kyrgyzstan, bringing the total to 147, 9 of them are medical workers.

One militiaman has been placed under observation with suspicion of COVID-19.

In the republic, the first coronavirus patient died on Apr.2.
