Bishkek, Jan.29, 2020. /Kabar/. Director of the State Committee for Religious Affairs (SCRA) of Kyrgyzstan Zaiyrbek Ergeshov met in Moscow with Deputy Head of Russia’s Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs (FAEA) Mikhail Mishin.
During the meeting, Ergeshov and Mishin considered the issues of holding events in the field of religious education, provided by the Memorandum of Understanding between the SCRA and FAEA, signed in March 2019 after the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Kyrgyz State Committee for Religious Affairs said Tuesday.
The meeting participants also discussed joint measures to work with migrants from Kyrgyzstan in Russia, cooperation on the prevention of any form of discrimination on the basis of religion or ethnicity, prevention of the dissemination of radical and extremist ideas in accordance with the legislation of the two countries.
The sides also discussed a number of other cooperation areas, provided for under the Plan of Activities to hold the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan in Russia and Russia in Kyrgyzstan in 2020.
