Bishkek, Nov. 12, 2020 / Kabar /. “Our main task at the legislative and mental level is to show government officials and the people that corruption in our country is the most severe crime,” Vice Prime Minister Maksat Mamytkanov said at a press conference in the Government House.

He said that the fight against corruption in the country will continue. “Without fighting corruption, it is impossible to create a free economy. Corruption is the scourge of any state. The people are waiting for results from this struggle,” Mamytkanov said.

He noted that, despite the recent events in the country and in the world, Russia remains the main partner of Kyrgyzstan.

Russian State Duma deputy Oleg Kolesnikov said that the purpose of his visit to Kyrgyzstan is to exchange experience in the fight against corruption, since he has been an expert in combating corruption for more than 10 years.

“We held a high-quality exchange of experience on anti-corruption issues. The fight against corruption is an international task, i.e. corruption permeates all areas of our life. This significantly hinders the development of any country. Russia supports the reforms of the country's new leadership, and the views and plans that were voiced at the meeting inspire hope that Kyrgyzstan has a great future,” Kolesnikov said.
