Bishkek, July 22, 2024 . / Kabar / . In January-June this year, 20.2 thousand crimes were recorded in Kyrgyzstan, which is 13.3% less compared to the same period last year, the National Statistical Committee reported.
Thus, 2.4 thousand grave and especially grave crimes were registered, which is 13.2% less. The bulk of crimes were crimes against property, which accounted for about 72% in January-June 2024.
In January-June this year, the number of crimes against the person decreased by 11.6% in the republic as a whole compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The number of rape cases decreased by 1.9 times, the number of crimes causing less serious harm to health - by 18.3% and crimes causing serious harm to health - by 13.2%.
The 13.8% decrease in the number of property crimes compared to January-June 2023 was due to a 1.9-fold decrease in robbery, a 1.6-fold decrease in robbery, and a 22.5% decrease in burglary. At the same time, the number of fraud cases increased by 12.5%.
A decrease is also observed in the number of crimes related to drug trafficking (by 8.7%). Meanwhile, the largest share of such crimes (more than 64%) is related to the possession of drugs for the purpose of sale and possession of drugs without the purpose of sale (more than 32%).
In January-June 2024, 1,009 cases in public places were registered, of which the largest share was theft - 34.7%, hooliganism - 16.2% and robbery - 6.4%.
