Kyrgyzstan sees decrease in maternal mortality

Bishkek, July 25, 2022. /Kabar/. During the first six months of 2022, the maternal mortality rate decreased to 24% (per 100 thousand live births), Acting Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zharkynbek Kasymbekov said at a press conference on the results of the first half of 2022.

He noted that a decrease is also observed in infant mortality, amounting to 14.8%.

In addition, the acting minister reported other statistics on the priority indicators of public health in the first half of 2022:

- Fertility, mortality, natural increase (per 1 thousand population): fertility - 20.7%, mortality - 4.9%.

- Morbidity, mortality from tuberculosis (per 100 thousand population): morbidity - 31.2%, mortality - 1.1%.
