Kyrgyzstan sees decrease in number of fires by 30% on results of H1 of 2020

Bishkek, July 7, 2020 /Kabar/. During 6 months of 2020, 1027 fires have occurred on the territory of Kyrgyzstan (1478 fires in 2019); 30.5% decrease is observed compared to last year, the press service of the Kyrgyz Emergency Ministry reported Tuesday.

Material damage from fires amounted to more than KGS 154 million (KGS 260 million last year), the decline is 40.7%.

As a result of fires, 10 people died (in 2019 - 28 people) and 15 people suffered (in 2019 - 34 people). Through the efforts of personnel, 24 people (46 in 2019) and material assets worth KGS 1million 422 thousand 553 were saved in fires.

The main reasons of fires:

Violations of electrical equipment operation rules - 447 (43.5%);

Careless handling of fire - 168 (16,4%);

Furnace operation rules violations - 133 (13 %);

Child’s play with fire - 56 (5,5 %).
