Bishkek, Aug. 25, 2020. /Kabar/. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, there is an improvement in the overall mortality rate dynamics in the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to Deputy Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mademin Karatayev, over 33 thousand deaths were registered in 2019. If consider data for 7 months of 2020 and compare them with the previous year, dynamics of improvement can be observed.

"I can’t say for sure what this is related to, because more research is needed, but despite the pandemic, there is an improvement in the overall mortality rate. Maybe, the population and every citizen began to take more responsibility for own health.

Last year, 266 cases of lethal outcomes per 100 thousand from coronary heart and cardiovascular diseases were registered, and for 7 months of this year we have 251 cases. This shows that people have begun to understand the importance of health prevention, I do not exclude the provision of quality medical care, etc. This is the result of comprehensive work," said Karatayev, and noted the Health Ministry is working to reduce the overall death rate and increase life expectancy.
