Kyrgyzstan sees increase in COVID-19 cases

Bishkek, Oct. 8, 2020. /Kabar/. As of Oct. 8, increase of COVID-19 incidence is observed in Kyrgyzstan, growth made up +154%, the Republican Center for Health Promotion and Mass Communication of the Kyrgyz Health Ministry said.

The Republican Center asks mass media representatives to support informing the population and public on need to comply with measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Strict compliance with sanitary measures will reduce the burden on the beds, medical workers and reduce the rate of growth of infection among citizens, which will make it possible to provide necessary medical care to the population.

Kyrgyzstan has reported 48,342 cases of novel coronavirus so far.

"Yesterday and today, the country registered the highest rates for the last week. If earlier the growth of coronavirus disease was observed in the south of the country, now the highest rate is recorded in Bishkek. Over the past day, 77 cases have been registered in Bishkek," Sabirzhan Abdikarimov, the Health Minister of the country said Thursday at a briefing.
