Kyrgyzstan, Singapore to cooperate in training and professional development of teachers

Bishkek, Apr. 26, 2019. / Kabar /. Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Gulmira Kudaiberdieva met with representatives of the Ministry of Education of Singapore, the press service of the Ministry reported.

During the meeting, representative of the Ministry of Education of Singapore, Theo Chor Khai, spoke about the unique experience of reforming the education system in Singapore, which allowed it to take a leading place in the world ranking of the best education systems. He noted that Singaporean parents' views on learning are part of the culture that is common in many Asian countries, where priorities are the education of children.

In turn, Minister Gulmira Kudaiberdieva noted the special role of the teacher in carrying out reforms.

“We need to involve in teaching professionally oriented people who are motivated to work with children. All successful educational systems, including the experience of countries like Singapore, prove that when a teacher becomes an active participant in the reforms, the country can achieve results in education,” said Kudaiberdieva.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to cooperate on the training and advanced training of teachers.
