Kyrgyzstan, South Korea consider opening of direct Bishkek-Incheon flight

Bishkek, April 23, 2022 . / Kabar / . Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Republic of Korea Aida Ismailova held talks with a delegation of the T'Way airline (South Korea), led by President Hong-Geun Jung.

During this meeting, the sides discussed the possibility of opening a direct air service on the Bishkek-Incheon-Bishkek flight.

The Kyrgyz ambassador expressed gratitude to the South Korean airline for its assistance in transporting citizens of both countries and delivering humanitarian aid during the pandemic.

In turn, the president of the airline said that the company received permission to operate direct flights on the Incheon-Bishkek route in February 2020, but due to the closure of the borders of many countries due to the pandemic, including Kyrgyzstan, regular flights were postponed.

Hong-Geun Jung added that the nearest charter flight to Kyrgyzstan is scheduled for April 28, 2022.

The interlocutors also agreed that the opening of direct flights between Kyrgyzstan and South Korea will give impetus to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
