Kyrgyzstan, South Korea to consider opening direct flight between countries

Bishkek, Apr. 12, 2019. / Kabar /. Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea Dinara Kemelova met with Vice President of Korean Airlines Asiana airlines Mr. Kim Tae Yop, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea reported.

During the meeting, Kemelova briefed about the annual growth of Korean tourists visiting Kyrgyzstan. She noted that mutual interest is growing between the two countries, especially in tourism and business. Taking into account the growth prospects for the number of tourists from South Korea and the countries of Southeast Asia in the Kyrgyz Republic, she stressed the urgency of opening direct passenger flight between Bishkek and Seoul.

Vice President Kim Tae Yop said that he would study the proposal of the Kyrgyz side, taking into account the profitability and prospects for opening a direct flight with Kyrgyzstan. Expressing admiration for the nature of Kyrgyzstan, as well as interest in the history of the Kyrgyz people, he said that an even greater flow of tourists is needed, which will be the impetus for the opening of direct flights between the Kyrgyz Republic and South Korea.

The parties agreed to continue consultations on the above issues.
