More than 20 billion soms are spent in Kyrgyzstan for diagnosis and treatment of cancer, including lung cancer, head of the Department of Thoracic Surgery of the National Center for Oncology and Hematology of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor Mukash Beishembaev told at Kabar News Agency.

He said that over 500 people are registered in Kyrgyzstan with lung cancer, this is a big figure for a small state.

The republic annually spends more than 20 billion soms for diagnosis of lung cancer, when the budget of the Ministry of Health is less.

“The main burden falls on the shoulders of patients, relatives. The question arises: How much do we get from the sale of tobacco products? ” he asked.

Beishembaev is confident that business should be beneficial to society, but in the case of Kyrgyzstan, the opposite is true - the state loses 100 times more than it receives.
