Bishkek, May 21, 2021 . / Kabar / . A strategic session on the development of the National Program "Tuberculosis-6" brought together representatives of all stakeholders, the press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Health and Social Development reported Friday.

The overall goal is to create a program document for the period until 2026, which regulates the state's activity in the fight against tuberculosis.

"First of all, there must be a critical evaluation of the previous five programs: what we have achieved, what we have not achieved. Perhaps unrealistic goals were set or some mechanism was not fully developed. From these positions, we start developing the Tuberculosis-6 program. And then we should develop specific goals and objectives, specific activities, with mandatory indication of funding sources, necessary resources and management systems, and most importantly, human resources - who will implement all this. Also, real evaluation indicators must be set, which will later allow to judge the effectiveness of the program implementation," director of the National Center for Phthisiology Madamin Karataev noted.

An important aspect was seen by the participants of the session to ensure that the National TB-6 Program contains capabilities to adequately respond to challenges such as, for example, a new type of coronavirus pandemic.
