Bishkek, Jan.30, 2020 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has started to export fuel oil to Georgia by railway trucks, the press service of the Kyrgyz Temir Jolu (Kyrgyz Railways) National Company State Enterprise said.
The sender of the cargo is Kyrgyzneftegaz.
At the first meeting of rail managers of five countries: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, held in Tashkent in December 2019, the sides agreed on the development of Asia-Pacific countries-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Europe international multimodal railway route and vice versa, with the development of common approaches for accelerating the passage of container trains and applying standardized tariffs, which will significantly increase the volume of trade not only between the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus, but also with other states of the European and Asian continent.
The first freight train left Karasu (Kyrgyzstan) for Batumi (Georgia) on Jan.21, 2020.
A train of 49 cisterns (fuel oil) in Uzbekistan travelled 33 hours along the multimodal corridor through Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. The implementation of the pilot shipment of cargo through Uzbekistan was a success and until today another freight train has been sent to Batumi from Karasu.
Till today, 2 trains have already been sent, one more consignment of cargo is being prepared for sending on this transit multimodal corridor.
24 more tanks were accepted on Jan.28 at Kara-Suu station.
