Kyrgyzstan starts preparations to WB Business Ready program

Bishkek, Jan. 8, 2025. / Kabar /. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic informs about the start of work on the preparation and completion of the questionnaire within the framework of the World Bank Business Ready (B-Ready) program, the ministry said. This initiative is a strategic step aimed at improving the business climate and creating favorable conditions for sustainable economic growth and entrepreneurship development in the country.

The Business Ready program, which replaced the Doing Business index, is a universal tool designed to analyze and improve key aspects of doing business. It takes into account the needs of countries with different levels of economic development, providing opportunities to eliminate regulatory barriers, modernize the institutional environment and increase investment attractiveness.

The main objectives of the Kyrgyz Republic's participation in the B-Ready program include:

- Creating favorable conditions for attracting domestic and foreign investment;

- Simplifying the procedures for registering and running a business;

- Optimizing international trade processes and developing export potential;

- Improving the public administration system and introducing modern digital technologies.

The ministry emphasizes that the implementation of the B-Ready program will provide an opportunity to significantly increase the competitiveness of the Kyrgyz Republic, strengthen the confidence of entrepreneurs and investors in government institutions and provide conditions for long-term socio-economic transformations.

The preparation of a questionnaire reflecting key aspects of the business climate will form the basis for the formation of an analytical base necessary for assessing the current state and identifying areas for further improvement.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic expresses confidence that participation in this program will become an important tool for stimulating economic development, strengthening the business sector and improving the well-being of citizens of the country.
