Bishkek, May 21, 2024. / Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has started supplying chilled mutton meat to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministry of Agriculture reports.
According to the Ministry, the export of chilled mutton from Kyrgyzstan to the Islamic Republic of Iran is an important step for the development of trade relations between the two countries. Given the growing demand for quality meat in Iran, such an initiative could be beneficial not only for meat producers in Kyrgyzstan, but also for the country's economy as a whole.
Thus, on May 18, 2024, the first batch of chilled lamb in the amount of 9860 kg was shipped to Iran by the slaughtering enterprise Toro LLC, with the support of the Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
All veterinary and sanitary, control and supervisory activities were carried out in respect of all shipped products, as well as laboratory control for quality and safety indicators.
Toro Ltd. intends to supply from 12 to 24 tons of mutton weekly in the total volume of 1000 tons. To date, the Kyrgyz Republic exports meat to Russia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the UAE and Kuwait.
It is noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has a very large market and is constantly increasing imports of quality meat certified according to international standards.
