Kyrgyzstan starts vaccination of rep. of diplomatic corps of foreign countries and int'l organizations

At the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, vaccination of representatives of the diplomatic corps of India, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan has begun in the republic, Director of the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis Gulbara Ishenapisova told at a press conference.

According to her data, a total of 33 thousand 548 people have been vaccinated in the Kyrgyz Republic today, of which 15 thousand 980 medical workers, 5 thousand education workers, 3 thousand 786 citizens over 65 years old, 500 law enforcement officers, 870 civil servants, 7 thousand 549 - volunteers.

“I would like to note that the vaccination is planned to be completed by the end of this month,” she said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan announced the start of vaccination of employees of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Bishkek from May 3.

Kyrgyzstan has started COVID-19 vaccination campaign on March 29 using China-donated vaccine after receiving 150 thousand doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from the Chinese manufacturer Beijing Institute of Biological Product Co. Ltd on March 19. The vaccination is carried out twice, with an interval of 25-28 days. No side effects have been reported after immunization with this vaccine.

In addition, the first batch of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V in the amount of 20,000 doses was delivered to Bishkek on April 22.
