Bishkek, Dec. 20, 2021 . / Kabar / . 6 thousand 579 appeals were considered within the framework of the republican decade to provide free legal aid to population, Deputy Minister of Justice of Kyrgyzstan Orozbek Sydykov said during a press conference.
He added that Center for Coordination of State-Guaranteed legal Aid carried out on Dec. 6-16 a decade to provide free legal aid to the population under the auspices of the Justice Ministry of the republic.
"The main purpose of the decade was to increase the level of legal protection of vulnerable groups, the provision of advice and legal assistance, legal education, access to justice, assistance in the implementation of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens," the deputy minister said.
In addition, Orozbek Sydykov pointed out that legal assistance was provided through oral and written consultations on legal issues and other issues relating to the activities of other government agencies.
The decade was timed to coincide with the International Human Rights Day, which is celebrated annually on December 10. On this day in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The decade of free legal advice and assistance to the population has been held annually since 2016.
