Bishkek, May 26, 2022. / Kabar /. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Aibek Artykbaev handed over to Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kyrgyzstan Ibrahim bin Radi bin Abdurakhman Al-Radi a note in which the Kyrgyz Republic confirms the support of Saudi Arabia in holding EXPO 2030 in the city of Riyadh.
The World Expo is the largest international event that allows participating countries to present themselves to the world, demonstrating the latest developments in technology and science, cultural achievements and new architectural masterpieces. The General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions will vote on the winning city in 2023. There are several applicants for the EXPO, including Saudi Arabia. The principle of voting is simple: one country, one vote.
Recently a parliamentary delegation of Saudi Arabia headed by Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Majlis Ash-Shura (Parliament) of the KSA, who is also the head of the Saudi-Kyrgyz Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ali bin Muhammad bin Yahya Al-Asiri, visited Bishkek.
During the conversations with the leadership of the country, issues of the development of Kyrgyz-Saudi relations and prospects for inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed. The importance of opening direct regular flights between the two countries was emphasized, which will increase the volume of trade and make a great contribution to the development of the tourism sector.
