Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland intend to form training system for unemployed youth

Bishkek, Aug. 3, 2023. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland intend to form a training system for unemployed youth in the Kyrgyz Republic. This became known during the meeting of Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration Kudaibergen Bazarbaev with Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Kyrgyz Republic, Olivier Bangerter.

The project “Development of skills in Kyrgyzstan” was discussed at the meeting, the purpose of which is to form a system of short-term refresher courses and vocational training for unemployed youth in professions that are in demand on the labor market and for their further employment within the country. The project is designed for 12 years, the implementation of the first stage should begin before the end of this year.

“In the National Development Program until 2026, the head of state set the task of eliminating the discrepancy between the acquired skills and the requirements put forward by employers. It is important to provide opportunities to acquire qualified skills and retrain unemployed youth, primarily from rural areas, as soon as possible,” the minister said.

As a result of this meeting, the sides agreed to work out the discussed and other mutually beneficial issues for further cooperation between the countries.
