Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan to withdraw units of military formations from border line

Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2022 . / Kabar /. A working meeting of delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was held at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the press service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan said Friday.

The Kyrgyz delegation is headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Chairman of SCNS, Lieutenant General Kamchybek. Tashiev.

The delegation includes Presidential Envoy in Batken Oblast Abdikarim Alimbaev, head of the Border Service of SCNS and other government agencies.

Heads of relevant regional structures of Kyrgyzstan’s Batken Oblast and Sughd Province of Tajikistan also participated in the meeting.

As a result of the meeting and negotiations, the parties decided:

1. To instruct the joint commission to organize a thorough investigation of the causes of the conflict, with the participation of the relevant power structures and prosecutor's offices;

2. To ensure the return of all local residents who left their homes when the conflict began;

3. To withdraw all units of military formations from the relevant border line;

4. To ensure that all roads are unblocked and that destroyed infrastructure and power lines are restored;

5. The authorities of the sides have to ensure proper control in the border area in order to prevent and avoid further border, water and other conflicts.
