Kyrgyzstan takes part in Cobalt-2021 tactical exercise in Tajikistan

Bishkek, Nov. 23, 2021. / Kabar / . Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Oktyabr Urmambetov took part in the Cobalt-2021 tactical exercise, which took place in Tajikistan at the Fakhrobod military training range.

Special-purpose units of the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Collective Rapid Reaction Forces were involved in the exercise, the Interior Ministry’s press service reported.

The events are aimed at strengthening international cooperation of law enforcement bodies and security agencies in the fight against modern threats and challenges.

Law enforcement officers and military personnel from Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan worked to plan and conduct operations to eliminate illegal armed groups.

"I am confident that the exercise will make a significant contribution to the fight against crime and will serve to maintain stability and peace in our countries," said Octyabr Urmambetov.

At the end of his speech, the deputy minister emphasized that the next Cobalt-2022 tactical and special exercise is expected to be held in Kyrgyzstan, and expressed his hope for full support and fruitful cooperation.
