Tashkent-Andijan, Oct.21, 2019. /Kabar/. Delegation form Kyrgyzstan consisting of 45 persons, representatives of the business community from Osh, Dzhalal-Abad and Batken Oblasts took part in the Open Andijan International Investment Forum, held on Oct.19-12 in Andijan Region.
Head of the Southern Department of Kyrgyzstan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Myrzamamat Kebekbayev said this Forum is another opportunity to further develop trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and other countries participating in the event.
The opening ceremony of the branch of the Indian Sharda University in Andijan was held within the framework of the Forum.
“We want to see in Andijan the growth of such areas as information technology, pharmaceuticals and medicine. The project was also an investment success. Opening of the Sharda branch brought $20 million in investment to Andijan Region,” head of the region Shukhrat Abdurakhmanov said.
One of the main events of the Forum's business program was the signing of the agreement with the Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited (India) on the phased implementation of the complex pharmaceutical production with direct foreign investments of $50 million.
The main sector of Andijan - the automotive industry - offered to potential investors 17 localization projects worth $280 million. Here Indian companies will face real competition from investors from South Korea, China and EU countries.
As a result of the International Forum, agreements worth $250 million were signed on attracting investments, as well as on exporting products of Uzbek producers worth $40 million.
